The East Providence Prevention Coalition did not hold its Second Annual Egg Hunt this past Saturday due to inclement weather. The event has been postponed and the rain date has been changed to this upcoming Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 10am. The event will be held at Rose Larisa Park, across from the Crescent Park Carousel. The event is sponsored by TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank, with their new location on 440 Newport Avenue in East Providence. Free crafts, and children’s activities including facepainting, bean bag toss, potato sack races, along with pictures with Peter Cottontail and an Egg Hunt (divided into age groups; toddler – age 4, ages 5-7, ages 8-10) will engage community members. Any youth who finds a Golden Egg, will win a special prize. Egg Hunt supplies are limited to the first 200 participants.
Registration for the Egg Hunt will begin at 10am with the Hunt taking place around 10:45am. Children’s activities and crafts will last until 1pm. The cost of the hunt is $3.00 per child or $7.00 per family, up to three children. Pictures with Peter Cottontail are $3.00 per photo. There will be free crafts projects for children at the event. The event is not one to be missed!
The Crescent Park Carousel will be open on this day as well. Ride tickets are $1 a piece.
All proceeds will benefit the DICE program. DICE is a youth led program, for teens of East Providence, which empowers young people to make change in the community through leadership development, peer education, and service to community.
