OCTOBER ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN @ EAST PROVIDENCE PUBLIC LIBRARIES

“STORIES ON THE SPECTRUM” @Weaver
Stories and songs for children who have developmental disorders on or off the autistic spectrum and their families.
Saturdays (once a month), 11:00-11:30am

WEEKLY STORYTIMES - September 18 through December 8, 2012
No advance registration is necessary. Half hour storytimes include stories, songs, crafts, and other activities.

Wednesdays, 10:00am, ages birth - 35 months @ Riverside
Wednesdays, 6:30pm, ages 2 – 6 @ Weaver
(This storytime will not meet on October 31.)

RECYCLED CREATION CRAFTS @Weaver

Use recycled materials to create interesting and unique crafts.

BOOKIES @Weaver
Read and act out great stories, tell jokes, make crafts, eat snacks, play games, and more!
2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, September 25 – December 11

Book Selection is read during the program.

LEGO CLUB @ Riverside
Monthly on Wednesdays, 3:45-4:45

Ages 5 & up
Lego fans are invited to build alongside other kids who love LEGOs. The librarian will provide a theme for inspiration. Kids can stick to the theme, or just explore the open-ended possibilities of creating with a giant mountain of LEGOs .
LEGO donations are always welcome! Thank you!

HALLOWEEN FACE PAINTING
Wed., October 31, 3:00-5:00 @Weaver
Kids are invited to have their faces painted in preparation for trick or treating.
Miss Denise will use the library’s face painting crayons, or parents can bring their own face paints for her to use.

READING BUDDIES
The library matches volunteers, age 13-adult, with younger children to read together for one hour each week at the library. Call the Weaver Library for more information.

READ DOWN YOUR FINES
Kids 16 and younger can “pay” their overdue fines by reading in the library. Just tell a librarian when you start and finish reading, and we will waive $1 for every 30 minutes of reading.
