1/20/2012 - Information on Snow Removal Ordinance

PRESS RELEASE

The City of East Providence recently enacted a new ordinance which requires all residents and businesses to shovel the sidewalk in front of their property within 24 hours following the storm event. Failure to shovel the sidewalk will result in a fine of $25.00 for a first offence, $50.00 for a second offense, and $100.00 for a third and subsequent offenses.

The cooperation from all property owners who have a sidewalk to promptly remove and clear the snow and ice from the sidewalk following a storm is greatly appreciated.
