Water Cleaning & Lining Project Information:

The City of East Providence Department of Public Works announces the commencement of a water main improvement project to upgrade aging water mains in the City. This work will rehabilitate aging water system pipelines some of which are over 100 years old to improve water quality and system operations for the City residents and businesses.

The contractor is completing permanent pavement repairs in the area of City Hall/Phase I.

September 2011 update:

Cleaning & Lining in the Phase I Area is now complete.  The contactor has also finished permanent pavement repairs for all of the City Hall/Phase I area.  Permanent paving will take place next year for the Phase II area.  Walsh is preparing to start work on Phase III.  Work in this new area will begin in mid September, to view a map of this area click here.  Walsh will be starting in the Sutton & Goldsmith Avenue area first.  Those areas will receive notices regarding the commencement  of work.

Residents should be aware that this piping is above ground and care should be taken in this area.  Employees from W. Walsh Company Inc. will need to make appointments with you in order to gain entry and connect your house to the by-pass. This allows your house to receive water from the by-pass pipe. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
