Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, changes in the refuse and recycling

Holiday Collection Schedule:

Due to the Martin Luther King Jr  holiday, all household rubbish and recycling regularly collected on

Monday,  January 16th will be collected on

 Saturday,  January 14th.

 

 

All residents are reminded to have all containers at the curb by 6:00 AM for collection.

 

The regular collection schedule will resume on Monday January 23rd.

Christmas Tree

Chip-A-Tree -2011

 

The East Providence Department of Public Works and Parks Division will be collecting and chipping Christmas Trees for use as mulch for City projects.

Drop off your tree Dec. 26 - Jan. 15 at the following locations:

 

Glenlyon Field    Agawam Field   Kimberly Rock Field

Hull St. Playground   Pierce Field    Central Av Playground   Silver Spring Playground    Kent Field   Riverside Rec Field    Grassy Plain Park     Sabin Point

Park Carousel Parking Lot

 

  

Curbside collection will be available January 3 - January 20.

 

Please remove all ornaments, lights & stands.

TREES ONLY!

No wreaths, garland, roping, or artificial trees.

Residential Yard Debris Collection Ends

December 31st.

Yard Debris collections will begin again in the spring, starting April 2, 2012!!

 

 Forbes Street Compost Site

East Providence residents may drop off leaves, grass and other vegetative material suitable for composting at the site.  Residents must show a valid driver's license as proof of residency.  Vehicles must be four wheel, registered in East Providence and with one ton capacity or less.  NO commerical vehicels are permitted. 

Incoming material must be loose; no plastic bags, no contaminates.  Residents disposing of contaminated material will be issued a first warning; a second offense will result in the vehicle and resident banned for the year.
