Hunt's Mill Picnic and Recreational Area

 

 

 

 

DESCRIPTION:

 This historic property was once a turn of the century amusement park. It later became part of the Rumford Chemical Company, supplying water for their plant also located in Rumford. This is a passive recreation area with a picnic area overlooking a tranquil waterfall. The John Hunt House Museum, operated by the East Providence Historical Society, is a prominent part of this property. A link to the museum is found at the bottom of this page.

RESERVATIONS AND FEES:

For the picnic area may be obtained from the Recreation Department (401) 435-7511*.

There is a fee for non-residents.

* The picnic area will be closed from July 2010  through November 2011 due to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Fish Ladder Project.
