Recycling Division

Steven Mutter, Refuse/Recycling Coordinator

The Coordinator is responsible for the contract development and oversight of all residential rubbish, recycling, yard debris, and appliance collection programs. The Division manages the Forbes Street Compost Site and the automotive motor oil and antifreeze collection program located at the Public Works Garage on Commercial Way. The Coordinator organizes and oversees litter prevetion and collection programs including Earth Day events in the spring and the Shoreline Cleanup in the fall. A furniture exchange program is coordinated through the Division to relocate usable furniture to those in need.

The Division is responsible for the development and oversight of rubbish and recycling collection contracts for all School Department facilities, The Coordinator provides components for education curriculum, classroom presentations and filed trips.

The Coordinator is currently the municipal liaison to the RI State Courts System and the Juvenile Hearing board to administer the community service program.

The Recycling Coordinator has an office in Room 306 of City Hall.
