James McDonald, Finance Director

The Finance Department develops and controls financial management functions of the City of East Providence, as delegated in Article IV of the East Providence City Charter. This includes responsibilities for financial planning and development to ensure fiscal stability.

The Finance Department consists of 22 full-time employees, including the Finance Director, Controller, Purchasing Agent, Assessor, and Treasurer. The Finance Director is appointed by the City Manager and reports directly to him.

The Finance Director and the Treasurer are located in the same office on the first floor of City Hall, Room 104. The offices of Controller and Purchasing Agent are located on the second floor of City Hall, Room 206. The Assessor is also on the second floor of City Hall, Room 202.
