As required by Rhode Island General Laws, the City of East Providence and its consultant, Vision Appraisal Technology, have completed the City's reassessment program for residential properties. Commercial property values will be mailed out the week ending March 23, 2007.
Please DO NOT use the old tax rate to calculate or estimate taxes using the new assessments. A new tax rate will be established once the reassessment program is completed. Your new value does not reflect your Homestead Exemption or any personal exemption(s) you may be receiving.
If you feel that the new proposed assessment does not reflect the current market value of your real estate as of 12/31/2006, an appointment may be made with Vision Appraisal Technology, by calling 1-888-844-4300. Please do not call the Assessor’s office. Vision will accept calls to schedule appointments from March 14th through March 23rd, between the hours of 9:00AM and 4:00PM weekdays. Day and evening appointments will be available. Hearings will begin March 20th. Hearings are individual and private in nature, and are by appointment only. Scheduled hearings will be held in Centro Cultural de Santa Maria Hall, located at 846 Broadway, East Providence.
All property values will be available for review at the hearing room and at Vision Appraisal Technology web site. You may access the website at http://data.visionappraisal.com/EastProvidenceRI/DEFAULT.asp. All valuations questions will be answered at the hearings only. Customer support will NOT answer questions regarding value.
The results of your hearing will be mailed once the hearing process is complete. A separate notice will be mailed for each parcel. If you are dissatisfied with the results of the hearing, an application for appeal may be obtained from the Assessor’s office or click here.
We would like to thank the property owners of the City of East Providence for their patience and cooperation during this reassessment process.
